Sydneysiders and international visitors, come and enjoy a great, entertaining and satisfying indie film fix.

The WORLD OF WOMEN (WOW) FILM FESTIVAL will be celebrating 19 years of women’s short film excellence. WOW has announced an exciting, diverse showcase of contemporary short films and features with key creative input by women - fiction, documentary, animation, experimental and feature films. Experience a different storytelling and a unique perspective “seeing the world through the eyes of women.”

This prestigious festival is presented by Women in Film and Television (WIFT) NSW and screens from March 5 to 15. Hosted throughout Sydney at Dendy Opera Quays, NSW Parliament House Theatre, Customs House Library, the Australian Film Television Radio School (AFTRS), the Vanguard Newtown, City of Sydney Surry Hills Library and University of Technology Sydney.

Liz Watts, acclaimed producer (Lore, Dead Europe, Animal Kingdom) is the WOW Patron for 2013. Margaret Pomeranz will be 'In Conversation' with a leading Australian fillmmaker on Thursday 14th March at Surry Hills Library and will also appear on opening night.

The Minister for Women (NSW), the Hon. Pru Goward, will open the festival at the Dendy Opera Quays on Tuesday 5th March.

Celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March at AFTRS, commencing with a screening of Show Me the Magic with a Q&A by director Cathy Henkel, followed by a retrospective of shorts by AFTRS Women Alumni curated by Cate Shortland director (Lore & Somersault).

WOW’s international FestivalOnline, sponsored by IndiFlix, will screen throughout March. Experience a different storytelling and a unique perspective.

This year the WOW Film Festival will be screening 50+ films!!

Extend the Experience - Opera Bar, the Official Bar of the WOW Film Festival. Join us at Opera Bar for 15% off drinks & food post screening every night of the Festival on presentation of ticket. Enjoy the live music & the view. After Party on Opening Night includes 1 hour of complimentary drinks from 9.00pm!

The WOW Film Festival will then travel to various locations throughout Australia and overseas.

Opening Night at the Dendy Opera Quays Cinema will begin at 6.00pm with drinks and live music by Christina Christensen followed by the screening of an selection of Australian shorts at 7pm. The official WOW Festival Opening After Party will be held at Opera Bar, Lower Concourse, Opera House, where guests can enjoy drinks, live music by the harbour.
